Anybody with access to your account can view archived orders but the order won’t appear by default (though it will still appear in “Buy It Again” until you do the “Improve Your Recommendations” procedure above). A few days later I receive both of my orders, no problem. I checked my bank account about a day after I’d placed the orders and the money was taken out as expected. The total came to over 400 but it was two separate orders.

Note that you can generally remove an order from casual view by navigating to your orders and choosing “Archive order” for any order. I recently ordered an iPad from amazon, as well as a case for it and a few grocery items. On the right column beside every individual item you can tick “I prefer not to use this for recommendations” which will now remove this from display in “Buy It Again” in the future. Now you should see a list of items you’ve purchased.

But sometimes you don’t want a previous order displayed when logged in. Amazon tries to helpfully suggest you repurchase items that you’ve ordered in the past.
